To allow for those with disabilities or mobility issues to equally enjoy the sugar-white sand South Walton is famous for, wheelchair-friendly mats are available at the Ed Walline Regional Beach Access. These mats allow those in wheelchairs to access the beach and enjoy breathtaking views.
In addition to the beach mats, a limited number of beach wheelchairs specially designed to traverse soft sand, are available free of charge and are offered through the South Walton Fire District (available March 1 - Oct 31, 10:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.). They are located at the following beach accesses:
- Miramar Beach: Tower 54 (near Pompano Joe’s restaurant)
- Ed Walline: Tower 33
- Santa Clara: Tower 21 (Bramble Grove)
- Inlet Beach Tower 11
An interactive map of lifeguard towers and beach wheelchair locations is available here. For a complete list of South Walton’s beach and bay access, as well as beach safety information, visit www.visitsouthwalton.com/beach-bay-access-locations/.
