Welcome to Walton County, Florida
Walton County’s Bio-Diversity
Walton County offers one of the most bio-diverse natural landscapes in the country with 1,038 square miles of land and 202 square miles of water area. Here, you’ll find hundreds of miles of hiking and biking trails, crystal clear spring waters, incredible fishing (both in the Choctawhatchee Bay and the Gulf of Mexico), 26 miles of sugar-white sand and turquoise water, and rare coastal dune lakes which can only be found in a handful of locations around the world, not to mention thousands of acres of diverse state parks and state forest. Beginning at the Alabama state line to the north and ending at the Gulf of Mexico in the south, Walton County is home to three cities, multiple small communities bursting with Southern charm, and unique beachside neighborhoods with so much to offer.
