Free State Park Admission All Summer

Through Labor Day, you can get free day-use admission (generally 8 a.m. to sunset) to Grayton Beach State Park and Topsail Hill Preserve State Park, compliments of Visit South Walton. These beautiful treasures showcase why nearly 40% of South Walton’s land is preserved for nature.

Grayton Beach State Park:

Grayton Beach State Park provides convenient parking with access to a full mile of stunning beachfront. With nearly 2,000 acres, the park also offers a boat ramp on Western Lake for both fresh water and saltwater fishing. Canoeing, kayaking and paddleboarding also allow for an up-close look at this unique salt marsh ecosystem. Meanwhile, hikers and bikers alike can explore a nature trail through the pine flatwoods.

Topsail Hill Preserve State Park:

Topsail Hill Preserve State Park is home to three rare coastal dune lakes. While motorized boats aren’t allowed, fishing is permitted from along the shores. Surrounding the water, old-growth forests and various wetlands offer great hiking and excellent bird watching.

The ecosploring opportunities in both parks are a perfect complement to some laid-back fun on the sugar-white sand beaches here.
